Be the first to review

Abbey Gardens Parking is a council-operated tarmac lot located adjacent to the historic Abbey Gardens. It offers approximately 70 marked bays including six disabled-access spaces positioned close to the pedestrian gate. Operating hours are 8 am–8 pm daily during summer (April–September) and 8 am–6 pm in winter (October–March); pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo; overnight parking is prohibited. The tarmac surface is grooved to assist drainage and inspected quarterly, with potholes repaired within 48 hours. LED bollard lighting provides evening illumination during operating hours, and three CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and pedestrian pathways to the gardens. Pedestrian access leads directly to Abbey Gardens (1 minute walk), St Edmundsbury Cathedral (4 minutes), and local bus stops on Parkway (3 minutes). Two 22 kW Type 2 EV charging bays are sited near the entrance, available via pay-as-you-go. Weekly litter clearance and monthly hedge trimming maintain a picturesque environment.
