Note: Moreton-in-Marsh’s main public car park (Old Market Way) is the best nearby spot for fast charging while you shop, given the ALDI lot has no chargers yet.

? Peak Times & Occupancy

Live Demand Patterns: (approximate)

Timeframe	Occupancy	Typical Users
Weekdays 8–10 AM	~50%	Local shoppers, hospital visitors

Pro Tip: On Tuesdays (Market Day), Moreton-in-Marsh hosts a popular street market on the High Street – the ALDI car park can fill up earlier than usual with shoppers. Plan to arrive before 10 AM for a spot, or use an alternative car park if you’re visiting the market to avoid the rush.

? Walkability Score

From the ALDI car park, you can easily reach several key destinations on foot:

• High Street & Market Square – 10 min walk: Stroll to Moreton’s charming town center shops, cafes, and the historic Tuesday street market (the largest open-air market in the Cotswolds).

Essentials

• Public Toilets: There are public restrooms next to the Market Hall on High Street (about a 10-min walk). Note a 40p entry fee. ALDI itself also has customer toilets inside the store.
• ATM: The nearest cashpoint is at the Post Office on High Street (~10-min walk). Additionally, the Co-op grocery on High St has an ATM in-store.
• Pharmacy: Moreton Pharmacy (High Street, 10-min walk) for prescriptions and health needs. There is also a small pharmacy counter inside the nearby Tesco Express.

?️ Alternative Parking Comparison

If ALDI’s car park is full or if you need longer-term parking, consider these nearby options:

Site	Distance	Cost	Max Stay	Advantage
Moreton-in-Marsh Station Car Park	0.6 mi (12 min walk)	£5/day (Mon–Fri); £3.90/day (Sat–Sun)	24h	Ideal for rail users; secure APCOA lot with CCTV
Old Market Way Car Park (Station Rd)	0.5 mi (10 min walk)	£0.80/30min; £2.30/2hr; £3.20 all-day	10 hr (no overnight fee)	Town centre location; council-run with EV chargers and cheap all-day rates
Co-op High St Car Park (Back of Co-op store)	0.4 mi (8 min walk)	Free (90 min for shoppers)	1.5 hr	Another supermarket car park – handy for High Street errands (enforced time limit)

(On-street parking is also available along Moreton’s High Street for free, except on market days. Just check signage for any time restrictions.)

⚠️ Important Notices

• Overnight Parking: No overnight stays are permitted. The car park is intended for ALDI customers during trading hours only – it closes around 10 PM when the store does. Vehicles left after hours risk being locked in or ticketed by the management company.
• Market Days: Every Tuesday, the High Street is closed for the market and parking around town is busier. ALDI’s car park will see heavier use on those days, and traffic on Stow Road can be slow. Plan accordingly (arrive early, car-share, or use alternate parking) if visiting on a Tuesday morning.
• Enforcement: The ALDI car park is monitored by ANPR cameras (e.g. ParkingEye). If you exceed the free 2 hours without validation or fail to pay for additional time, expect a parking charge (£70+ fine) by post. Always keep your ALDI receipt as proof if you encountered any issues with the validation machine.
• Height & Vehicle Restrictions: No height barrier – campervans and high-roof vehicles can enter. However, large trucks or HGVs are not allowed except for store deliveries. No overnight camping or caravanning is allowed on site.

? Expert Tips

• Validate Every Visit: Even if you’re popping in for a quick shop, don’t forget to enter your car registration at the checkout machine or scan your receipt. This ensures your free parking session is recorded. Shoppers have been fined in the past for skipping this step – so make it a habit!
• Combine Errands: Take advantage of the free parking by doing your grocery shopping first, then using the remaining time to stroll into town. A small ALDI purchase not only saves you money on food, but also covers your parking while you explore nearby boutiques or grab a coffee on the High Street (within that 2-hour window).
• Plan for Peak Times: Saturdays late morning get very busy. Aim to arrive right at opening (8 AM) on weekends for the best chance of an open bay. Likewise, weekday lunchtimes see a rush – consider shopping earlier or later in the afternoon to avoid circling for a space.
• Quick Stop Hack: If you just need to use the post office or another quick errand in town, you could park at ALDI, do a brief shop (even just grab a snack) to validate your parking, then walk over. This way you legally park free while supporting the store. Just be sure to return within 2 hours.
(Of course, if you’re not actually shopping at ALDI, use a public car park – it’s the right thing to do and avoids any risk of fines.)

? Future Developments

• 2025: EV Charging Coming? ALDI has announced plans to install electric car charging at a number of UK stores by 2025. While Moreton-in-Marsh ALDI hasn’t been confirmed yet, keep an eye out – this car park could see the addition of fast chargers in the near future, making it even more convenient for EV drivers.
• 2027: Site Upgrades: Approaching its 10-year anniversary (the store opened in late 2017), the Moreton ALDI may undergo minor refurbishments. Any future upgrades could include resurfacing the car park and improved bay markings, based on ALDI’s typical store refresh cycle. No major expansions are planned, as the store and car park footprint are fixed on the current site.

Enjoy your visit to ALDI Moreton-in-Marsh knowing you’ve got one of the town’s most convenient parking spots. Happy parking and happy shopping!
