Bagger Wood Car Park is a surface-level public facility located off Bagger Wood Road, serving the Bagger Wood Country Park and nature reserve in the Thurgoland area. The lot provides approximately 100 gravel-surfaced bays, including four accessible spaces near the gated entrance. Operating daily from 7 am to 7 pm, parking is free of charge; no payment machines are provided. No CCTV coverage or lighting is available, so visits are recommended during daylight hours. Clearly marked footpaths lead directly from the lot into extensive woodlands, mountain biking trails, and wildlife observation hides within a two-minute walk. Informational boards at the entrance detail trail maps, geological features, and protected species found in the reserve. Local bus stops on Bagger Wood Road offer limited connections to Sheffield City Centre and Barnsley. EV charging is not available on-site; the nearest rapid charger is at Car Park Stocksbridge, a 20-minute drive away. Covered cycle racks accommodating up to ten bicycles are provided near the entrance to encourage cycle touring and eco-friendly travel. Seasonal gravel grading prevents muddy surfaces and maintains stable ground for visitors.
