Bawdsey Quay Car Park is a council-confirmed surface lot serving the Bawdsey Ferry landing and local beach access. It provides around 30 marked bays including two disabled spaces near the ferry boarding point. Operating hours are 7 am–9 pm daily; pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo payments; maximum stay 8 hours. The gravel-and-tarmac surface is graded for drainage and inspected quarterly; potholes are repaired within 48 hours. LED bollard lighting ensures minimal illumination for early-morning and evening fishermen, and one CCTV camera monitors entry, exit, and pedestrian pathways. Pedestrian pathways lead directly to the ferry terminal (1 minute walk) and to the riverside footpath (3 minutes). Two Type 2 EV charging bays are located near the entrance, available via pay-as-you-go. Weekly litter clearance and perimeter hedge trimming keep the site neat.
