Beacon Hill Upper Car Park Beacon Rd, Woodhouse Eaves, Loughborough LE12 8TA

Free hillside parking for Beacon Hill walking trails

Be the first to review

Located at the summit of Beacon Road, this sprawling car park serves hikers and visitors to Beacon Hill Country Park. The tarmac surface holds approximately 120 vehicles, including six designated disabled bays close to the main trailhead. No payment is required; parking is free year-round. The site features two information kiosks with maps, wildlife guides and safety notices. Lighting is minimal—solar bollards provide low-level illumination along the path—so visitors are discouraged from staying after dusk. Footpaths lead directly from the lot to the main attraction viewpoint within a five-minute walk. During peak season (April–September), ranger staff collect voluntary donations for path maintenance. A picnic area and public toilets are located adjacent to the car park. Bus services to Loughborough run hourly from the village center 2 kilometres downhill.
