The eastern car park for Bentley Wood (SP5 1QB) offers 35 gravel-reinforced bays catering to mountain bikers and hikers on the West Dean side. Open daily from 6 am to 8 pm, parking is free but limited; overflow is directed to road-side laybys. No lighting is provided to protect nocturnal wildlife, and there is no EV charging. One disabled bay with firm aggregate base is located near the trailhead. A waymarked footpath leads directly into the forest within a 5-minute walk. Forestry Commission rangers patrol regularly to maintain route markers and ensure visitor safety.
