Secure 24/7 rail commuter parking with cycle lockers and accessible bays
Benton Station Approach Car Park is a Nexus-operated rail station facility offering 200 spaces on a sealed tarmac surface for rail commuters. Open 24/7, parking charges are £3 per day, payable at the barrier kiosk by card or contactless; season tickets are available via the Nexus website. Twenty accessible bays are positioned closest to the station entrance, featuring drop-kerb access and tactile paving. The site features LED column lighting for uniform coverage, and CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and all parking aisles; nightly security patrols run from 10 pm to 5 am. Covered cycle lockers for 40 bicycles and six motorcycle bays attract mixed-mode commuters. In early 2025, the car park was resurfaced, and all line markings repainted. A digital occupancy display at the barrier column shows real-time available spaces. Pedestrian pathways with raised zebra crossings lead directly to the station platform and ticket office. Drainage channels were installed along the western edge in 2024 to prevent standing water during heavy rainfall.
