Scenic parking with accessible bays, pay-and-display, and direct access to Black Rock climbing and Mendip trails.
Black Rock Car Park is a public facility managed by Somerset Council, serving visitors to the Black Rock climbing cliffs and Mendip Hills walking trails. The lot offers 60 sealed tarmac bays, including four accessible spaces nearest the footpath leading to the cliff base. Pay-and-display machines accept coins and contactless cards; tariffs are £0.90 per hour with a maximum stay of four hours, and a daily rate of £7 applies beyond that. LED lampposts illuminate the area from dusk until 10 pm, and two CCTV cameras monitor the entrance for security. Covered information boards display climbing route guidance, safety notices, and local wildlife information. Seasonal maintenance includes bi-annual line repainting, monthly litter collection, and quarterly pothole repairs to maintain safe access for climbers and hikers. The car park is a five-minute walk to the Village of Priddy, where local cafés and services are available.
