Bookham Commons – Tunnel Car Park is a rural surface lane facility located off Church Road in Great Bookham, providing access to the extensive commons and woodland trails managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. The lot offers approximately 30 gravel-surfaced bays, including two accessible spaces near the entrance gate. Operating 7 am–7 pm daily, parking is by permit or pay-by-phone only; a mobile payment kiosk is not available. There is no CCTV coverage; solar-powered LED bollard lighting marks the pedestrian path from the lot to the main trailhead for safety during early morning and late evening visits. A well-defined footpath leads directly into Bookham Commons’ heathland, ponds, and ancient woodlands within a two-minute walk. No direct bus service serves this car park; visitors are encouraged to travel by bicycle or private vehicle. Covered cycle racks accommodating four cycles are provided near the entrance to promote eco-friendly travel. Seasonal maintenance includes gravel regrading and vegetation clearance to maintain access.
