Free village parking near railway station and Severn walks
Bridge Street Car Park is a free, council-operated tarmac lot located on Bridge Street, serving the village of Caersws and adjacent Severn Valley walkways. The facility provides 30 marked bays, including two Blue Badge spaces near the station entrance and one motorcycle bay. It operates 7 am8 pm daily; no overnight parking. LED lamp posts ensure illumination until dusk, and CCTV cameras monitor the entrance only. An information board displays local walking routes along the River Severn (2 km loop), train timetables for Caersws station (0.05 km), and village notices. Pedestrian pathways lead directly to the railway station platform (0.05 km), the village pub (0.1 km), and the community hall (0.2 km). Two 7 kW EV chargers are available at no charge for residents, billed via a posted phone number. Seasonal heritage fairs reduce capacity by 5; drivers are directed to the Caersws Memorial Hall overflow lot (0.3 km). Quarterly maintenance includes litter clearance and vegetation trimming.
