Free conservation parking with accessible bays and illuminated trail access at Burrington Combe.
Burrington Parking serves visitors to the Burrington Combe nature area, offering a rustic, gravel-surfaced lot with 60 bays, including two accessible spaces near the main footpath entrance. Parking is free of charge; however, visitors are encouraged to leave a voluntary donation at the wooden information kiosk supporting local conservation efforts. Solar-powered LED bollard lights illuminate the pedestrian path from dusk until 10 pm. A single CCTV camera at the entrance provides basic security coverage. Seasonal maintenance includes bi-annual gravel top-ups, monthly litter picks, and periodic vegetation trimming around the perimeter to maintain clear sightlines toward the Mendip Hills footpaths. The car park provides direct access to several waymarked walking trails, rock climbing crags, and the Burrington Camp Iron Age hillfort, all within a five-minute walk. Public bus services to Bristol and Wells stop along the A371, approximately 800 metres away.
