Central Maldon parking with accessible bays, seasonal pay-and-display, and walkable access to Promenade Park.
Butt Lane Car Park is a central Maldon Town Councilmanaged facility serving the town centre and promenade. The site offers 70 sealed asphalt bays, including four accessible spaces located adjacent to the pedestrian crossing leading to the Promenade Park and Hythe Quay. Pay-and-display machines accept coins and contactless cards; tariffs are £1 per hour with a three-hour maximum stay, and a daily cap of £5 during summer (AprilSeptember), and £3 during winter. High-efficiency LED lampposts illuminate all aisles from dusk until 11:00 pm, and three CCTV cameras monitor entrance, exit, and accessible bays. Covered information boards display local tourist maps, schedule for the Maldon Prom shuttle bus, and event listings for the Maldon Mud Race. Pedestrian pathways link directly to the Promenade Park, Maldon Museum, and riverfront pubs within a two-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes line repainting, pothole repairs, and litter clearance to maintain a welcoming environment for visitors and residents.
