Permit-only residents parking with barrier access and 24/7 CCTV
Located off Forest Road in the residential Mapperley Park area, Campbell Street Residents Car Park is a permit-only surface lot serving approximately 80 vehicles for local households. Access is restricted by barrier gates unlocked via RFID permit cards issued to eligible residents; unauthorized vehicles are subject to ticketing and tow-away enforcement between 11 pm and 6 am. The tarmacadam surface was resurfaced in mid-2023, with fresh white thermoplastic bay markings demarcating each stall and clearly indicating no-parking zones. Ten accessible bays (3.6 m wide) are situated within 10 m of the pedestrian gate leading to Campbell Street dwellings; these bays feature drop-kerb ramps and tactile paving strips to assist visually impaired and mobility-impaired users. Uniform LED column lights spaced at 12 m intervals provide dusk-to-dawn illumination, ensuring safety throughout the lot. Four PTZ-enabled CCTV cameras cover all entry, exit, and aisle areas, streaming 24/7 footage to the councils security hub. Perimeter fencing combined with low hedgerow planting serves as both a physical barrier and a visual screen from adjacent properties, aiding water runoff control. Directional signage within the lot directs drivers to the single exit onto Mapperley Park Road, while smaller wayfinding arrows guide residents to numbered bay locations. Monthly maintenance includes litter clearance, minor pothole patching, and testing of barrier mechanisms, with drainage inlets inspected and cleaned quarterly.
