APCOA-managed parking next to Fort Green promenade
Slaughden Car Park, managed by APCOA, is a council-owned tarmac surface lot offering approximately 80 marked bays including six disabled-access spaces located near the gated entry. Operating hours are 7 am–10 pm daily; pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless payments, and RingGo; overnight parking is prohibited. The tarmac surface is grooved for drainage and undergoes quarterly inspections; potholes are repaired within 48 hours of identification. LED bollard lighting ensures safe early-morning and evening visibility, and three CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and pedestrian pathways 24/7. Pedestrian access leads directly to Fort Green promenade (1 minute walk) and to Aldeburgh town centre (3 minutes). Two Type 2 EV charging bays are located adjacent to the ticket machines and operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. Weekly litter clearance and perimeter hedge trimming maintain a presentable coastal car park.
