Free access parking for Charnwood Water outdoor activities
Serving Charnwood Water Leisure Park, this large gravel-surfaced car park holds approximately 100 vehicles, including a dedicated disabled area of five bays near the visitor centre. There is no charge for parking; voluntary donations are collected at the visitor centre for conservation efforts. The entrance features an automated barrier that opens during park hours (6am8pm), closing overnight to prevent unauthorized access. Information shelters display maps of walking, cycling and angling routes, as well as safety guidelines. Low-level solar lighting lines the main access road; no lighting is provided on peripheral areas. The site provides direct access to picnic areas, childrens playfields and fishing platforms. A café and public toilets are located adjacent to the lot. The nearest bus stop is on Ashby Road, about 1 kilometre away.
