Pay-and-display parking at Southwold cliff-top and theatre
Cliff Field Car Park is a council-operated gravel-and-tarmac facility serving Southwold cliff-top walks and theatre. It offers approximately 50 marked bays including four disabled spaces located near the pedestrian gate. Operating hours are 7 am–9 pm daily; pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo payments; no overnight stays. The gravel-and-tarmac surface is graded for drainage and inspected quarterly; potholes and washouts are repaired within 48 hours. LED bollard lighting provides minimal illumination for early-morning and evening visitors, and one CCTV camera monitors entry, exit, and pedestrian pathways. Pedestrian routes lead directly to Southwold Theatre (1 minute walk), to cliff-top paths (2 minutes), and to the beach (5 minutes). Two Type 2 EV charging bays are located at the entrance, available via pay-as-you-go. Weekly litter clearance and hedge trimming maintain a clean cliff-top environment.
