Expansive event parking at Coventry Building Society Arena
Coventry Arena Car Parking P1 is a large surface lot owned and operated by Coventry City Council to serve Coventry Building Society Arena events and adjoining attractions. It offers 1,200 marked bays including eighty disabled spaces located closest to the stadium entrance. Entry is controlled by automatic barrier arms during major events; at other times, pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo payments. LED high-mast floodlighting ensures visibility for early arrivals, and a network of sixteen CCTV cameras covers all entry, exit, and pedestrian areas. The tarmac surface is grooved to optimize drainage; seasonal inspections occur quarterly with immediate pothole repairs within 48 hours of reporting. Pedestrian pathways lead directly to the arena entrances (12-minute walk), Ricoh Arena Stadium (3 minutes), and the nearby Arena Park retail complex (5 minutes). During large events, stewards direct vehicles and open adjacent overflow grass fields as additional parking. Fourteen Type 2 EV charging posts are dispersed across the lot, available on a first-come, first-served basis via pre-booking online. Biweekly litter clearance and hedgerow trimming ensure a tidy environment.
