Cow Ridge Car Park is a free, council-managed gravel lay-by located off Bur Way in Church Stretton, serving the Cow Ridge and Carding Mill Valley walking routes. The unmarked facility accommodates approximately 25 vehicles on a first-come basis; open from dawn until dusk, no overnight parking. There is no lighting or CCTV; daytime visits only. A Shropshire Hills AONB information panel at the entrance displays trail maps (2 km and 5 km loops), countryside code, and wildlife guides (e.g., lapwings, meadow pipits). Benches and picnic tables are provided near the lot perimeter overlooking expansive hill views. Pedestrian paths lead directly to the Cow Ridge ridgeway (0.05 km) and to connecting footpaths toward Carding Mill Valley (3 km). Seasonal guided ecology walks occur monthly from April to September. Maintenance crews clear invasive bracken quarterly and perform litter picks monthly.
