Free parking for Elan Valley trails and visitor centre
Elan Valley Trail Car Park is a free, Elan Valley Trustmanaged tarmac lot located just off the B4518, serving the popular Elan Valley trail network. The facility offers 80 marked bays, including six Blue Badge spaces adjacent to the visitor hub, two parent-and-child bays, and two motorcycle bays. It operates 8 am8 pm daily; no pay-and-display. LED lamp posts provide limited illumination until dusk, and CCTV cameras monitor entrances only. Pedestrian exits lead directly to the Visitor Centre (0.05 km), the Dam Trailhead (0.1 km), and the Elan Village café (0.2 km). Four 22 kW EV fast chargers are located at the lots north side, billed at subsidized rates. Seasonal biking and walking festivals reduce capacity by 20; signage directs overflow to the Crosstay car park (2 km). Maintenance crews repaint bay lines each spring, inspect drainage quarterly, and clear litter weekly.
