Pay & display access to Radnor Forests ridge trails
The Radnor Forest Fforest Radnor Forest: Parcio Ednol Car Park is a small pay-and-display gravel lot operated by Powys County Council, located on the B4355 west of Presteigne (postcode LD8 2PF). It serves as the trailhead for several longer walks through Radnor Forest, notably the ridge circuit that traverses sparsely wooded upland moorland. There are 20 marked spaces, including two accessible bays close to the pay-machine. The machine accepts coins and contactless card payments; tariffs are £2.00 for up to two hours and £4.00 for a full day (subject to change). The surface is uneven and can become waterlogged after heavy rain. There is a wooden trail map kiosk at the entrance, benches for resting, and a single picnic table. No lighting or CCTV is installed, so the lot closes unofficially at dusk. From here, walkers can access the Link Trail to the Black Mixen viewpoint (650 m elevation) and enjoy panoramic views across Mid Wales. Wildlife such as red kites and skylarks is often seen overhead.
