Free parking for Goyt Valley trails and Errwood Reservoir activities
Goyts Lane Parking is a free, Peak District National Park Authoritymanaged surface tarmac lot located on Goyts Lane, serving visitors to the Goyt Valley and Errwood Reservoir. The lot accommodates approximately 50 vehicles, including two marked Blue Badge spaces near the entrance and one motorcycle bay. It operates from dawn until dusk; no overnight parking is permitted. There is no lighting or CCTV; park during daylight hours only. An information board at the entrance provides maps of the 6 km Errwood Hall circular walk, details on local reservoirs, and safety guidelines for water-based activities. Benches and picnic tables offer rest spots overlooking Goyts Brook. Pedestrian trails lead directly to Errwood Hall (2 km) and onward to the Tittesworth Reservoir network (5 km). Seasonal valley music concerts reduce capacity by 10%; overflow parking directs drivers to the Cat and Fiddle lay-by (4 km) with a shuttle service during event weekends. Maintenance crews clear litter monthly and inspect drainage quarterly.
