Free Forest Parking for Heart of England Members
Dorothys Wood Car Park is a rural, open-air facility serving visitors to the Heart of England Forest at Dorothys Wood. The lot provides 60 marked bays, including two accessible spaces near the trailhead entrance. Operating 8 am7 pm daily, parking is free for Heart of England Forest members; non-members pay via an honesty box that accepts cash and contactless donations. CCTV cameras monitor the entrance and pay station during operating hours, and low-level LED bollard lighting guides pedestrians to the trailhead after dusk. A clearly marked footpath leads directly into Dorothys Wood and displays interpretive panels about local ecology within a one-minute walk. Picnic tables and benches are situated near the parking area, offering scenic views of open meadows. Public transport is limited; nearest bus stops on Alcester Road are a ten-minute walk away. Bicycle racks for four cycles are provided near the lot entrance to encourage eco-friendly visits.
