Central city on-street parking with accessible bays and pay-and-display
Heathcoat Street Parking is an on-street surface facility offering 75 paid bays directly serving the Nottingham City Council offices and nearby university buildings. Operating hours are 8 am to 6 pm MondayFriday (free evenings and weekends). Tariffs are £1 per hour, capped at £5 for a full day, payable via on-street pay-and-display machines accepting coin, card, contactless, or via the RingGo app. Two accessible bays (3.6 m wide) lie within 5 m of the main pedestrian entrance to the City Council Civic Centre, featuring drop-kerb ramps and tactile paving. The asphalt surface was overlaid in late 2023, and bay markings were repainted in early 2024. LED streetlamps on 8 m poles ensure bright illumination after dusk, while two CCTV cameras mounted on lampposts monitor all bays. In 2024, a thermal camera was added to the Civic Centre façade to detect unauthorized parking. Pedestrian crossings with tactile paving connect the parking bays to the adjacent public plazas. Quarterly inspections check pay machine operation and repair minor potholes.
