Hem Heath Woods Car Park is a free, council-managed gravel and grass-surfaced lot located off Trentham Road, providing access to the Hem Heath Woods Local Nature Reserve. The unmarked area accommodates approximately 30 vehicles and is open from dawn until dusk; no barrier or fee is required. Adjacent to a Staffordshire Wildlife Trust information board, it serves as a trailhead for woodland walks, including a 3 km loop featuring ancient oak and birch stands. Benches and picnic tables at the lot perimeter overlook riparian wetlands, where kingfishers and water voles are often sighted. A wooden board displays wildfire prevention notices and seasonal birdwatching guidance. There is no lighting or CCTV, so only daytime visits are advised. Seasonal volunteer-led conservation workdays take place monthly between March and September.
