Seasonal parking at High Lodge forest visitor centre
High Lodge Car Park is a seasonal pay-and-display lot serving the High Lodge forest and park facilities under Forestry England. It offers approximately 150 marked bays on a gravel surface, including ten disabled-access spaces located near the visitor centre entrance. Operating hours are 8 am7 pm AprilOctober and 9 am5 pm NovemberMarch; charges apply via machines accepting coins, contactless, and RingGo; no overnight parking. The gravel surface is graded monthly to maintain drainage; potholes and ruts are filled within 48 hours. No lighting is provided to protect nocturnal wildlife; two CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and the pathway to the visitor centre. Pedestrian trails lead directly to forest walking paths (1 minute walk) and to mountain bike trails (3 minutes). Two 7 kW Type 2 EV charging bays are available near the visitor centre, operated on a pay-as-you-go basis. Biweekly litter clearance and seasonal hedge trimming keep the area clean.
