Central Maldon parking with accessible bays, pay-and-display, and easy walk to High Street and town hall.
High Street East Car Park is a council-managed surface lot located off Edward Bright Close in central Maldon. The facility offers 85 sealed asphalt bays, including five accessible spaces adjacent to the pedestrian walkway leading to Maldon Town Hall and High Street shops. Pay-and-display machines accept coins and contactless cards; tariffs are £1 per hour with a three-hour maximum stay, and a daily cap of £5 during summer (AprilSeptember), and £3 during off-peak. Solar-powered LED lampposts illuminate all aisles from dusk until 10:00 pm, and two CCTV cameras monitor entrances, exits, and accessible bays for security. Covered information boards display local event schedules, museum opening hours, and bus timetables for the 90 service to Chelmsford. Pedestrian pathways link directly to Maldon Promenade Park, Hythe Quay, and local cafés within a two-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes line repainting, pothole repairs, and litter clearance to maintain a tidy, heritage-focused environment for visitors.
