HMP Birmingham Visitors Car Park Birmingham B18 4BA

Controlled Visitor Parking During Visiting Hours at HMP

Be the first to review

The HMP Birmingham Visitors Car Park is a secure, controlled facility dedicated to visitors of Her Majesty’s Prison Birmingham. Located off Winson Green Road, the lot provides 40 marked bays, including two spaces reserved for disabled visitors nearest to the visitor centre entrance. Entry is controlled during visiting hours (Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 am–3 pm; Saturday: 8 am–12 pm) by a staffed gatehouse. Visitors must present identification and booking confirmation to access the site. Outside visiting times, the barrier remains locked, and no parking is permitted. The car park is monitored by high-resolution CCTV cameras, with guards performing periodic security checks when open. The surface is tarmac, with clear directional arrows and speed limit signage to ensure visitor safety. On foot, the car park is a five-minute walk from the Winson Green prison gate and ten minutes from Birmingham New Street Station via public transport. A small sheltered seating area is provided near the entrance for waiting visitors.
