Secure, free visitors parking with accessible bays and 24/7 CCTV at HMP Highpoint South.
HMP Highpoint South Visitors Car Park is a secure facility dedicated to visitors of Highpoint South prison, located off Snailwell Road. The lot contains 80 sealed asphalt bays, including four accessible spaces adjacent to the visitor reception building. CCTV cameras (four in total) provide continuous surveillance of the entire lot and entryway, which is gated and monitored by on-site security personnel during visiting hours (10 am4 pm). Parking is free for approved visitors, but vehicle registrations must be submitted in advance to the prisons security office. Solar-powered bollard lighting illuminates pathways from dusk until an hour after visiting hours close, ensuring safe egress. Signposted pedestrian routes lead directly to the visitor welcome center within a two-minute walk, and there are separate drop-off zones for families and vulnerable visitors. Regular maintenance includes monthly line repainting, quarterly pothole checks, and daily litter removal to uphold a respectful environment.
