Lakeside Park Car Park is a park-and-ride facility managed by Colchester City Council, located off Earls Colne Road near Lake Lothing. The lot comprises 200 sealed asphalt bays, including eight accessible spaces situated closest to the pedestrian shelter and bus boarding area. Parking is free of charge for park-and-ride users who display a valid permit or bus ticket. Covered waiting shelters with real-time bus arrival screens serve the hourly service to Colchester town centre and University of Essex Colchester campus, operating from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm on weekdays, and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekends. High-lumen LED lampposts illuminate all aisles from dusk until 1:00 am, and six CCTV cameras monitor entrances, exits, and the boarding area for 24/7 security. Pedestrian pathways link directly to Lake Lothing’s hiking trails and the Nearby Cuckoo Farm leisure centre within a two-minute walk. Routine maintenance includes quarterly line repainting, monthly litter clearance, and bi-annual resurfacing inspections to maintain a clean, safe environment for commuters and visitors.
