Free Permit-Based Parking for Langley Vale Wood Trails
Langley Vale Wood Car Park is a rural, surface-level facility managed by the Woodland Trust, located near Ashtead. The lot offers 70 gravel-surfaced bays, including four accessible spaces positioned nearest the wood entrance. Operating 7 am 7 pm daily, parking is free; users register their vehicle details at the trusts website for a permit code to use at the pay-by-phone kiosk. There is no CCTV coverage; visitors are advised to take care during early morning and late evening visits. LED bollard lighting lines the pedestrian path to the woodland to ensure safe arrival and departure. A clearly marked footpath leads directly to Langley Vale Woods network of walking trails, wildflower meadows, and picnic glades within a two-minute walk. No local bus stops serve the car park; visitors usually arrive by private vehicle or bicycle. Covered cycle racks accommodating six bicycles are provided near the entrance to promote eco-friendly travel. Regular gravel regrading maintains even terrain and prevents standing water.
