Free village parking near shops and Plas Power estate
Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant Village Centre Car Park is a free council-managed tarmac lot located in the heart of the village, serving local shops, cafés, and the historic Plas Power estate. The facility offers 40 marked bays, including three Blue Badge spaces near the village hall entrance and one motorcycle bay. It operates 8 am8 pm daily; no pay-and-display machines are installed, but wardens enforce a maximum stay of 2 hours. Overnight parking is prohibited. LED lamp posts provide illumination until midnight, and CCTV cameras monitor the entrance only. Pedestrian exits lead directly to the village hall (0.05 km), local bakery (0.1 km), and the footpath start point for the Gwern Fawr and Mochnant Hills walk (0.2 km). Two 7 kW EV chargers are installed at no charge for residents, billed via a posted phone number. Seasonal village events reduce capacity by 10; signage directs drivers to the Hafod Hotel overflow lot (0.3 km). Maintenance crews repaint bay lines each spring and clear litter weekly.
