Free parking for Llanymynech Rock Reserve trails and wildlife
Llanymynech Rock Nature Reserve Car Park is a free, council-managed gravel lot located off an unnamed lane in Pant, providing access to the scenic Llanymynech Rock Reserve. The unmarked facility accommodates approximately 40 vehicles on a first-come basis and is open from dawn until dusk; no overnight parking. There is no lighting or CCTV; daytime use only. A large information board at the entrance displays trail maps, geological history of the limestone escarpment, and wildlife-spotting tips (e.g., peregrine falcons, rare orchids). Benches and picnic tables are available near the lot perimeter overlooking the Powys countryside. Pedestrian trails lead directly to the rock face scramble routes (0.05 km) and onward footpaths to Chirk Castle (4 km). Seasonal guided geology walks occur monthly from April to October. Quarterly maintenance includes path clearance and removal of fallen debris.
