Low Road Car Park is a seasonal facility managed by Harwich Town Council, located off Wick Lane near the town’s historic coastal area. The lot features 100 marked grass bays with reinforced gravel sub-base, including four accessible bays closest to the main pedestrian walkway leading to the waterfront. Parking is free of charge from November to March; during the summer season (April–October), a daily tariff of £3 applies, collected via pay-and-display machines accepting coins and contactless cards. Solar-powered LED bollards line pedestrian routes from dusk until 10:00 pm, providing illumination for evening visitors. No CCTV is installed, but community wardens patrol during peak season to enforce seasonal charges. Covered information boards display local event schedules, tide tables, and bus timetables for services to Colchester and Ipswich. Pedestrian pathways link directly to the Old Harwich lighthouse, maritime museum, and local cafés within a three-minute walk. Quarterly maintenance includes grass cutting, line repainting, and litter clearance to preserve the scenic coastal environment.
