Nash Wood Car Park is a free, small gravel parking area at Plus Code 7X8V+8M on the outskirts of Presteigne (postcode LD8 2LE), managed by Natural Resources Wales. It accommodates up to 12 cars and serves as the trailhead for the circular Nash Trail through Nash Wood and across the WelshEnglish border. Facilities include a wooden information panel detailing the 3.5 km moderate trail (steep climbs, muddy sections in wet weather), benches at viewpoints, and a small picnic table. There are no electric lighting or formal barriers; the car park is open day and night, but users should note that there is no mobile signal. The access road is narrow with passing places, and the surface is loose aggregate that may become slippery. Dogs are welcome on leads, and seasonal grazing by sheep and ponies may bring them to the edge of the lot. Wildlife viewing opportunities include buzzards, nuthatches, and rare lichens on old oak trunks.
