National Trust Car Park at Flatford Mill is a purpose-built facility serving visitors to the Flatford and East Bergholt heritage area. The lot provides 120 sealed tarmac bays, including six accessible spaces located adjacent to the visitor reception entrance. Parking fees are £6 per day for non-members; National Trust members park free upon presentation of their membership card. High-lumen LED floodlights operate from dusk until closing (8 pm in summer, 4 pm in winter), and a network of six CCTV cameras provides 24/7 surveillance coverage. Covered information kiosks at the entrance display maps of the Constable Country trails, heritage site descriptions, and educational signage about the local flora and fauna. Seasonal maintenance includes monthly line repainting, quarterly litter collection, and bi-annual resurfacing checks to accommodate high visitor numbers during peak seasons. Pedestrian pathways lead directly to Mill Cottage and the lock, where guided boat tours depart; local bus stops on Flatford Road provide limited services to Manningtree and Ipswich.
