Taxi Rank Car Park is a 60-space surface lot located next to Newcastle Central Stations taxi drop-off point on Neville Street. Open 6 am 10 pm daily, it operates a pay-and-display tariff of £2 per hour, capped at £10 per day, payable via on-site machines (card, contactless) or the PayByPhone app. Two accessible bays (3.6 m wide) are situated immediately beside the taxi rank, with drop-kerb ramps and tactile paving leading to the station concourse. The tarmac surface was relayed in late 2023, and bay markings refreshed in early 2024. LED floodlights ensure bright coverage, and 24-hour CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and all aisles. A designated pedestrian walkway with raised crossings leads directly to the stations main entrance. In 2024, directional signage was added to guide drivers to alternative long-stay parking when capacity is reached. A wind-resistant bus shelter for 20 people is positioned near the accessible bays for waiting passengers.
