Next Parking is a private tarmac facility located near Junction 34 of the M1, adjacent to the Next distribution centre. The lot offers 200 marked bays, including 10 Blue Badge spaces near the warehouse entrance and two motorcycle bays. It operates 24 hours; access is via barrier entry requiring pre-booked access codes or staff passes; no pay-on-site. LED floodlights provide full illumination until 2 am, and CCTV cameras monitor all aisles. Pedestrian exits lead directly to the Next loading dock walkway (0.05 km) and to employee bus stops (0.10 km). Two 7 kW EV chargers are installed exclusively for staff use, billed via company accounts at a subsidized rate of £0.25 per kWh. Seasonal peak distribution days reduce capacity by 20; signage directs overflow to an adjacent gravel lay-by (0.5 km). Maintenance teams repaint bay lines quarterly and clear litter weekly.
