Campus cricket parking with EV charging and accessible bays
NTU Cricket Pitch Car Park is a small, surfaced lot on the Brackenhurst Campus servicing the cricket pavilion and sporting grounds. Offering 40 bays on sealed tarmacadam, access is barrier-controlled via RFID permits issued to NTU staff and students; casual visitors obtain day passes from campus reception. Two accessible bays (3.6 m wide) are located within 15 m of the pavilion entrance, featuring drop-kerb ramps and tactile paving. Uniform LED column lighting on 8 m poles provides safe illumination after dusk, augmented by motion-activated bollard lights. Four CCTV cameras with infrared capability monitor entry, exit, and aisles, streaming to the NTU security hub. In 2024, the surface was resealed and line markings repainted; drainage channels were upgraded along the western edge to prevent pooling. Covered cycle racks for 20 bicycles and two 7 kW EV charging points were installed near the accessible bays, bookable via the NTU parking portal. A volunteer-staffed information board at the entrance provides campus maps and sporting event schedules. Monthly maintenance includes barrier testing, litter clearance, and drainage gully cleaning.
