Quay-side parking for Orford waterfront and castle
Orford Quay Car Park is a council-managed surface facility serving the historic quay area. It offers 40 marked bays including four disabled spaces situated near the waterfront. Operating hours are 7 am–8 pm daily; pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo payments; no overnight parking permitted. The tarmac surface is grooved to facilitate drainage and inspected quarterly; potholes repaired within 48 hours. LED bollard lighting ensures visibility for early-morning and evening visitors, and one CCTV camera monitors entry, exit, and pedestrian pathways. Pedestrian pathways lead directly to Orford Quay (1 minute walk) and to Orford Castle (3 minutes). No EV charging stations are installed; nearest public charger is at Woodbridge Station Car Park, a 15 minute drive away. Weekly litter clearance and hedge trimming maintain a tidy historic environment.
