Eco-friendly parking for Outwoods nature reserve explorations
Located on Outwoods Road, adjacent to The Outwoods Local Nature Reserve, this car park is free and accommodates roughly 40 vehicles on a reinforced grass-mat surface that minimizes environmental impact. There are no disabled-designated bays, but the main trailhead is level and accessible. The site features wooden information boards with waymarked trail details and wildlife spotter guides. Solar-powered bollards provide low lighting at night, but visitors are encouraged to park and leave before dusk. A pedestrian gate leads directly to The OutwoodsÂ’ network of forestry commission trails, including a viewpoint overlooking Beacon Hill. Occasional ranger-led guided walks start from this car park. Public transport access is limited, with the nearest bus stop over a kilometre away on London Road.
