Oyster Tank Road Car Park is a council-managed surface lot serving visitors to Brightlingsea’s waterfront and sailing club. The facility offers 80 sealed gravel bays, including four accessible spaces nearest the pedestrian access ramp leading to Brightlingsea Sailing Club. Pay-and-display machines accept coins and contactless cards; tariffs are £1 per hour with a three-hour maximum stay, and a daily cap of £5 applies. Solar-powered LED bollard lighting lines pedestrian routes from dusk until 10 pm, ensuring safe access. One CCTV camera monitors the entrance and accessible bays to deter misuse. Covered signage at the entrance displays sailing club schedules, tidal information, and local walking route maps along the Blackwater Estuary. Pedestrian pathways provide direct access to the sailing club and high street within a two-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes gravel replenishment, line repainting of bay markers, and litter clearance to maintain a tidy waterfront environment.
