Shipyard Visitor Parking is a private lot reserved exclusively for business guests of the Brightlingsea Shipyard, located off Copperas Road. The facility provides 40 sealed gravel bays, including two accessible spaces adjacent to the reinforced walkway leading to the shipyard reception. Access is restricted; visitors must be registered in advance and issued a parking permit to raise the barrier. High-efficiency LED bollard lights line the pedestrian route from dusk until 9:00 pm for safe access after site visits. No CCTV is installed on-site; shipyard security staff patrol regularly. Covered signage displays shipyard safety guidelines, visitor registration instructions, and local bus timetables for services to Colchester. Pedestrian pathways link directly to the shipyard entrance within a one-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes gravel replenishment, line repainting, and litter collection to maintain a tidy, professional environment for clients and contractors.
