Free parking for woodland walks and wildlife spotting, daylight use only
Peatmoor Woodland Car Park is a free unmarked gravel lot located at the entrance to Peatmoor Woodland, serving local residents and nature enthusiasts. The facility accommodates approximately 50 vehicles on a first-come basis and operates from dawn until dusk (approximately 6 am–8 pm); no overnight parking. There is no lighting or CCTV; visitors should arrive and depart during daylight. An information board displays local wildlife highlights (including frogs and dragonflies) and woodland trail maps. Benches and picnic tables overlook the woodland edge. Pedestrian paths lead directly into the woodland trails (20 m) and connecting footpaths to Commonhead and Shaw Forest. No EV charging is available; nearest station at Avon Road Car Park (2 km). Seasonal birdwatching events reduce capacity by 20%; overflow directed to West Car Park (2 km). Maintenance crews clear litter monthly and inspect signage quarterly.
