Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Car Park is a paid council-operated tarmac lot located off the A539, providing the primary access point to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site and visitor centre. The facility offers 120 marked bays, including eight Blue Badge spaces near the visitor centre entrance and two motorcycle bays. It operates 8 am8 pm daily; pay-and-display charges of £3.00 for up to three hours, £5.00 for up to six hours, and £7.00 for all-day parking via machines accepting coins and contactless. LED floodlights provide illumination until dusk, and CCTV cameras monitor all driving lanes. Benches and picnic tables are available near the lot perimeter overlooking the Dee Valley. Four 22 kW EV fast chargers are installed at the lots northeast corner, billed via QR code. Seasonal peak tourist months (MaySeptember) see capacity reached by mid-morning; signage directs overflow to the additional aqueduct car park in Cefn-Mawr (3 km). Weekly maintenance includes line repainting and pothole repairs.
