Pay-and-display parking on Queen Street, Southwold
Queen Street Parking is a council-operated tarmac surface lot providing approximately 35 marked bays including three disabled-access spaces located near the pedestrian exit. Operating hours are 7 am–9 pm daily; pay-and-display machines accept coins, contactless, and RingGo payments; no overnight parking. The tarmac surface is grooved for drainage and inspected quarterly; potholes are repaired within 48 hours. LED bollard lighting ensures visibility for early-morning and evening visitors, and one CCTV camera monitors entry, exit, and pedestrian routes. Pedestrian walkways lead directly to Southwold town centre (2 minutes’ walk) and to local shops on Victoria Street (3 minutes). Two Type 2 EV charging bays are located near the entrance, available via pay-as-you-go. Weekly litter clearance and hedge trimming maintain a tidy village car park.
