⚠️ Important Notices:
Event-Only Use: Red Parking is reserved for match days and large events. It is not available for casual or overnight parking. Stay clear on non-event dates.
Road Closures: Edgbaston Road (B4217) closes ~2 hours before & ~1.5h after play. Plan extra time – set-drop off/pick-up points often on nearby streets.
Matchday Restrictions: Surrounding streets are permit-controlled on game days. Unauthorized parking may be ticketed. Always pre-book official lots.
? Expert Tips:
Book Early: Online parking often sells out; reserve your Red spot weeks in advance (major games fill fast).
Shuttle/Buses: West Midlands 501 shuttle bus runs New St ↔ Edgbaston (£5 return) – cheaper than driving.
Park smarter: If Red is unavailable, use Queens Ride car park and walk through Cannon Hill (pleasant route).
Gear: The lot is unshaded; on sunny/rainy days, prepare accordingly (no cover for cars).
Security: Keep valuables out of sight – CCTV deters trouble but it’s still an open park lot.
? Future Developments:
2025: EV charging rollout in Cannon Hill (Russell Rd Park now has 50kW/22kW chargers). More chargers may follow at Red in coming years if demand grows.
2026+: Council plans to maintain/improve Cannon Hill Park facilities. Any upgrades (lighting, surfacing, additional bays) would align with these works, but no specific changes announced for Red Parking.
