The Resident Parking Garages at 42 George Eliot Avenue comprise a shared surface lot subdivided into 20 private bays for local residents holding council-issued permits. The facility is gated with electronic keypad access; each authorized user is assigned a unique code. The concrete surface is sloped toward central drains, with annual inspections and repairs to cracks and potholes as needed. LED bollard lighting is installed at the entrance and middle of the lot for nighttime visibility, and two CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and pedestrian walkways. No transient or visitor parking is permitted; enforcement is conducted by a contracted private security firm. Pedestrian exit leads to George Eliot Avenue pedestrian sidewalks (1-minute walk), with easy access to George Eliot Hospital bus stops (3 minutes). No EV charging stations are built in; residents must rely on nearby public chargers on Longford Road, a 5-minute walk away. Monthly landscaping, including hedgerow trimming and litter sweeping, is carried out by council contractors.
