Free daytime parking with easy park access and accessible bays
Saltwell Park Car Park is a scenic, free 150-space surface lot located at the western entrance of Saltwell Park, serving visitors to the parks gardens, lake, and play areas. Open daily from dawn until dusk (approximately 6 am9 pm in summer, 7 am6 pm in winter), it consists of compacted gravel with designated bays marked by timber bollards and low-profile painted markers. Six accessible bays adjacent to the main footpath to Saltwell Towers feature a firm, paved surface and tactile paving to aid visually impaired users. No formal lighting is provided to minimize light pollution within the park; visitors are advised to park only during daylight hours. Informational signage at the entrance details park rules, trail maps, and local wildlife information. Bi-annual gravel regrading and installation of additional drainage channels ensure proper runoff during wet months. A covered cycle rack for 16 bicycles lies near the accessible bays, and park rangers conduct hourly patrols between 8 am and 6 pm.
