Free woodland parking for Seckar Wood nature reserve
Seckar Wood Car Park is a free, Forestry Englandmanaged gravel lot located on Seckar Lane, serving the Seckar Wood nature reserve and local walking trails. The unmarked facility accommodates around 20 vehicles on a first-come, first-served basis; it operates from dawn until dusk; no overnight parking. There is no lighting or CCTV; daytime visits only. A Forestry England noticeboard displays trail maps for the 4 km Seckar Wood Loop, information on ancient woodland species, and wildlife-spotter guides (e.g., nuthatches, roe deer). Benches and picnic tables are positioned near the lots perimeter overlooking dense woodland. Pedestrian paths lead directly to the Seckar Wood trailhead (0.05 km) and to connecting routes toward Anglers Country Park (1 km). Seasonal conservation volunteer days reduce capacity by 5; signage directs drivers to the Anglers Country Park overflow lot (1 km). Maintenance crews clear invasive Rhododendron quarterly and perform litter picks monthly.
