Short Stay Car Park is a council-operated surface lot located in the heart of Oswestry town centre. The tarmac facility provides approximately 60 marked bays, including four Blue Badge spaces near the entrance and two motorcycle bays. It operates 8 am to 6 pm MondaySaturday; pay-and-display charges of £1.20 per hour (capped at £5.00 per day) apply via machines accepting coins and contactless payments. Outside these hours, parking is free but overnight stays are prohibited. LED lamp columns ensure full illumination until midnight, and CCTV cameras monitor all entry and exit points. Pedestrian access leads directly to the Castle Walk shopping precinct (0.05 km), the towns bus interchange (0.2 km), and nearby cafés on Church Street (0.1 km). Two 7 kW EV charging bays are located in the northwest corner, billed through a QR code. Seasonal weekend markets reduce capacity by 15 spaces; temporary signage directs drivers to the Central Car Park (0.4 km). Maintenance crews repaint bay lines each spring and carry out pothole repairs biannually.
